Wakefern Food C orp, operator of ShopRite Super Markets has launched a local solar project at its retail store in Garwood, New Jersey. The project calls for 1,024 solar panels to be installed on store’s roof which will are said to generate 303,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. The electricity generated will be used to help power the store’s lighting and refrigeration systems, and reduce carbon-dioxide emissions by 200 tons annually.
This is a big step for a company like ShopRite; they are living up to the GreenisGlobal.net motto by thinking globally, and acting locally.
