If yes, you can’t think to miss out on replacement windows, which are surely a must have for every household. It’s a well known fact that replacement windows help augment the look and visual appeal of the home to a great extent. With the varied range of materials like wood, aluminum and vinyl that these windows are available in, you have plenty of options to choose from.

While all of us are well aware of the beautifying effects of the replacement windows, very few are aware of the fact that replacement windows come with energy ratings as well. This simply means that you can cut down on your regular usage of energy to a great extent with their help. Let’s know more about how installing replacement windows can prove beneficial for your pocket and energy consumption.

In comparison to regular windows, replacement windows ensure that the home remains cooler during summer months. Most of the replacement windows come equipped with glazed coatings. Such coating help reflects back the scorching summer heat that falls on window panes. In this manner your home remains a lot cooler, preventing you from relying on the air conditioning systems for bringing down temperature in your home. This in turn saves electricity consumption to a great extent.

Replacement windows also help maintain an ideal temperature in the home during the winter months as well. These windows help in insulation and thereby prevent the inner warmth of the house from escaping out. These futuristic windows reduce your dependence on the heating systems that you install in your home to keep it warm and comfy. Here too these technologically advanced windows help prevent unnecessary usage of energy. Even the window frames of the vinyl and wooden replacement windows offer the advantage of energy saving. They help prevent any leakage of heat outside the home, helping in order to maintain ideal insulation in the home.

The market is flooded with several brands that are renowned for offering energy efficient replacement windows. Simply choose your pick as per your needs and requirement. If confused as to which one to go for, you can seek advice of professional companies that deal with replacement windows in South Jersey, Montgomery and many more. Get in touch with the nearest roofing company to get them installed in an appropriate manner. Roofing contractors in Bucks County can also prove to be of considerable help to the interested buyer.

Going by the abovementioned information, it is abundantly clear that replacement windows are a one-time investment. While purchasing them might pinch you a little in the beginning, it will worth the purchase in the long run.

So, if you wish to enhance the style quotient of your house, all the while ensuring that you save on energy and your electricity bill, it makes sense to go in for replacement windows pronto.

With that goes the $1500 federal tax credit that many homeowner’s have been hoping to get! (and still can if you visit Global Home’s Tax Credit Page)

But what about the future? Is this tax credit really going to expire for good or will it be extended and possibly even increase in 2011 and 2012?!?

Well, at Green is Global we may not have the exact answer but we have some very good insight:

Earlier this year the House passed, a measure to create a similar tax credit that would be $3,000, that has been called “Cash for Caulkers.” Currently, the bill is sitting in the Senate.

The bill was formally called Home Star. Home Star would employ a two-tiered structure for energy-efficiency rebates. Its Silver Star program tier would provide up to $3,000 per home in prescriptive rebates for straightforward home upgrades, including insulation; efficient heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units; new windows; and other measures. The Gold Star program tier would offer $3,000 rebates for more comprehensive energy retrofits achieving at least 20% energy savings, with rebates increasing up to $8,000 per home for retrofits achieving 45% energy savings. Quality assurance inspectors would visit 10% to 15% of both Silver and Gold Star participating homes to ensure measures are properly installed. H.R. 5019 authorizes $6 billion in funding for the program (for FY10 and 11).

So, although there is no guarantee that there will be a federal tax credit, there is certainly hope!

….the most energy efficient vinyl window in the Philadelphia Area!!!

Here at Greenisglobal.net, we focus on energy efficient home improvements like replacement windows and metal roofing. One of the most effective ways to make your home more energy efficient is to install the Challenger Series triple pane vinyl window. The Challenger has three panes of glass to increase your home’s energy efficiency, while competitors’ windows only have two panes.

The Challenger Series Window offers triple pane glass; all which have low-emittance coatings, that keep your home at the temperature you desire. Low-emittance (low-e) coatings are important because they lower the amount of heat transferred through the window by reflecting more UV rays.

Between the three panes of glass there are two chambers filled with Krypton gas. These dual chambers of gas serve as added barriers to keep the thermal energy produced in your home– where it belongs!!!

All of these features combine to give the Challenger triple pane replacement window a market leading U-factor of 0.19, exceeding the ENERGY STAR minimum of .30. The Challenger Series also has a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.24, which is outstanding!

These windows qualify for up to $1,500 in ENERGY STAR tax credits…and Global Home Improvement will match your tax credits, for up to $3,000 in savings!!!!!!

To receive information or a free estimate in the Philadelphia region on triple pane vinyl windows—call 888-234-2929

All 35 colors of our standing seam metal roofing are ENERGY STAR rated, which makes the roof eligible for the federal tax credits. The tax credit expires on December 31, 2010 and includes 30% of the projects material costs, up to $1500. While all of our standing seam metal roofs are eligible for the tax rebate, there is only a limited selection of shingle roofs on the ENERGY STAR list. You should choose reflective roofing during the building design process, and also when you are looking to replace your current roof as a substitute for asphalt shingles.

Qualified roofing systems reflect more of the sun’s rays, which can lower the roof surface by up to 100 F, decreasing the amount of heat transferred to your home. Cool metal roofing not only looks great and lasts for decades, but standing seam metal roofing has the ability to lower your annual energy costs by up to 40%!!! You home can have significant savings because Americans spend about $40 billion annually to air condition buildings.

*Check out this Bonus 1500 Tax Fact: Detached garages, barns and other sturcutures on your property also are eligible for the tax rebate! The law states that products are covered if “such component is installed in or on a dwelling unit located in the United States…”

Detached structures may be considered part of the “dwelling unit” if you use them as part of your living space, for example, as a workshop, or an extra bedroom.

Also install now and Global Home Improvement will also match your tax credits dollar for dollar, giving you a total savings of up to $3,000.

Don’t hesitate, call Global Home today for a free no obligation estimate on metal roofing and to learn more about tax credits today!!!!

Pennsylvania may not be the “Sunshine State” but there is plenty of solar money for Keystoners who install the latest in solar and PV laminates.

Rebates of up to 35 percent are available on a first-come, first-served basis to owners of homes and small businesses looking to offset the cost of buying and installing solar-energy systems.

“This is a great day for Pennsylvanians who care about saving money over the long run, who care about creating the new green-energy jobs that President Obama talks so much about, and who care about the quality of our air and the future of our environment,” Rendell said.

Rendall began his remarks on May 21st, 2009 shortly after 11 a.m. the former Mayor of Philadelphia and now Governor of Pennsylvania made his remarks in a familiar area, close to home and with eager solar contractors paying close attention.

The PA legislature has approved $100 million for the rebate program.

Despite a battered economy and a workforce on edge over sharply rising unemployment, Rendell said he believed Pennsylvanians would claim every cent of the $100 million – “and . . . fairly quickly.” He cited a number of reasons – among them the fact that the new state rebate, along with federal tax credits of up to 30 percent, would enable Pennsylvanians to get as much as a 50 percent break on the cost of a solar-energy system.

The price of an average 5-kilowatt residential unit is $35,000 to $40,000. Experts say that investment will be recouped in eight to 10 years – through reduced energy costs and from selling unused power into the grid and alternative energy credits to utilities.

Another impetus to going solar now, Rendell said, is the likely event of double-digit rate increases by utilities when state caps are lifted in 2011.

Actual funding for the solar-rebate portion of Rendell’s $650 million Alternative Energy Funding Act did not come until last month. Although trailing New Jersey and Maryland in announcing the state’s solar program, it couldn’t come at a more opportune time, with a bright future for the Green Economy and a bright sunny forecast for Memorial Day Weekend.

As a result of the Stimulus Package signed in February of 2009, homeowners who make energy efficient updates to their home—the installation of a painted or coated Energy Star® labeled metal roof included—between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 may be eligible for a tax credit worth 30% of the installation costs (materials only) up to $1,500 per home over the two-year period.

ENERGY STAR qualified roof products reflect more of the sun’s rays. This can lower roof surface temperature by up to 100F, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a building.

ENERGY STAR qualified roof products can help reduce the amount of air conditioning needed in buildings, and can reduce peak cooling demand by 10–15 percent.
