2010 International Solar Cities Initiative Conference
Practice What You Preach…
Dezhou, China is hosting the 2010 International Solar Cities Initiative Conference, a huge expo that has everything related to solar power under one roof.
Surely they couldn’t use just any roof for the event, right?

Of course not. Instead, they built a gigantic conference center to showcase the possibilities of a large-scale solar project. The 800,000+ square foot sundial-shaped construction is topped by an amazing 50,000 square feet of solar panels which will provide 95% of the center’s energy needs. Incredible!
However, they didn’t stop there, either. The structure is also 30% more energy efficient than China’s national average due to heavily insulated roofing and walls. Symbolically, the exterior is covered in white, as a sign of clean energy.
Check out that solar array!
