$1500 Tax Credit with Metal Roofing!
Cool Metal Roofing from Global Home Improvement is eligible for 2009 tax rebates up to $1500.
As a result of the Stimulus Package signed in February of 2009, homeowners who make energy efficient updates to their home—the installation of a painted or coated Energy Star® labeled metal roof included—between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 may be eligible for a tax credit worth 30% of the installation costs (materials only) up to $1,500 per home over the two-year period.
According to energystar.gov:
- ENERGY STAR qualified roof products reflect more of the sun’s rays. This can lower roof surface temperature by up to 100F, decreasing the amount of heat transferred into a building.
- ENERGY STAR qualified roof products can help reduce the amount of air conditioning needed in buildings, and can reduce peak cooling demand by 10–15 percent.

The next metal roofed coatings should be an acrylic elastomeric roof coating. Home Improvement
I think this is very great news! Some of my favorite bunch of projects from the stimulus involves energy conservation & greening of the environment, and this totally merges it. Amazing! I hope it goes on successfully.
